It doesn't cost a lot of money': Remi Tinubu asks Nigerians to start akara, roasted corn businesses

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Nigerians to consider starting small businesses such as selling akara, roasted corn, and kuli kuli, saying they require little capital and can provide a source of livelihood.

Speaking in a video that has gone viral on social media, the wife of the president said the government had continued to provide grants and other forms of assistance to help citizens improve their livelihoods.

We are trying to give hope. To start akara business does not take a lot of money. To start roasting corn and kuli kuli does not take much. We did not give them a loan, we gave them a grant. We have encouraged Nigerians as best as we could," she said.

According to her, the government has continued to support citizens within the resources available to it, adding that she has personally contributed to several intervention programmes in the health, agriculture, education and social investment sectors.
