NSCDC Nabs Phone Snatching Kingpin in Taraba Polytechnic*

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended a key member of a notorious phone snatching syndicate that has been terrorizing students at Taraba State Polytechnic Jalingo.

The arrest comes as a result of weeks of meticulous surveillance and strategic operations by NSCDC officers.

Emmanuel Audu, a 24-year-old male, was taken into custody on January 19, 2025, following a string of brazen thefts that had left students and staff on edge.

The suspect is accused of stealing five mobile phones and ₦25,000 in cash from unsuspecting victims on the polytechnic campus.

NSCDC officials revealed that Audu's arrest is just the tip of the iceberg in their ongoing efforts to dismantle the entire criminal network. The command has intensified its efforts to track down and apprehend the remaining members of the syndicate, signaling a zero-tolerance approach to campus crime.

*Investigation and Prosecution*

The NSCDC is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter, leaving no stone unturned in their quest to build a watertight case against the suspect. Upon completion of the investigative process, Audu will face prosecution for his alleged crimes.

*Ongoing Security Measures*

As the hunt for the remaining gang members continues, the NSCDC has reassured the polytechnic community of its commitment to ensuring a safe learning environment.

The command has urged students and staff to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities promptly.

This arrest serves as a stark warning to criminal elements targeting educational institutions and highlights the NSCDC's resolve in maintaining law and order on campuses across the state.
