 FG DEPLOYS 10,000 ELECTRIC TRICYCLES TO BOOST PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

The Federal Government will roll out 10,000 electric tricycles in August 2026 as part of efforts to improve public transportation and promote sustainable mobility across Nigeria.

The initiative, to be implemented by the North East Development Commission (NEDC), will initially serve the North-East region, with plans for expansion to other parts of the country.

Vice President Kashim Shettima disclosed this during a courtesy visit by Transporters for Tinubu/Shettima 2027, stating that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the replication of the programme through regional development commissions nationwide.
